Sri Maha Ganapathy Temple is a Hindu temple in the historic town of Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad. The Temple was built-in eight centuries ago, in the history of Sulthan Bathery, everyone believes that Sulthan Bathery was previously known as Ganapathivattam because of this temple. The temple has a rich historical past, that was Tipu Sultan invaded the Malabar region in 1766 after that Maha Ganapathy temple was completely destroyed by him. Then he built a fort using stones, moreover, he renamed Ganapathivattam Sulthan Batheri. In 1975 the temple was renovated and the idol of Lord Ganapathy was re-consecrated. Temple is maintained by Adivasis and Chettis in Wayanad.
Sulthan Bathery Ganapathy Temple's morning darshan and pooja timings are from 5:00 AM to 12:30 PM, evening darshan and puja timings are from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Temple has daily poojas
The Temple held every year a big festival, that is celebrated for 8 days in the month of January, and February. The festival host several cultural programs like Chkyarkoothu and Ottanthullal.
