The Muthanga forest is the second-largest wildlife sanctuary in Kerala. The Forest houses rare and endangered species of flora and fauna.
The Muthanga Forest is part of Wayanad Wild Sanctuary, established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1973. It is situated on the border of Coorg and Wayanad. The Forest has a large number of jumbos and Elephant sites too, Tigers, monkeys, deer, bears, jungle cats, and a variety of snakes are the family members of the forest. Tourists can visit here from June to October, as well as visitors have 2-hour jeep safari facilities to watch various animals.
